Laurie, I resonate with so many of the sentences you shared here. I look forward to reading Junkyard Girl...thank you for your brave writing. I'm so grateful our paths have crossed.
What you said about “shared”memories being so different is so true. I like the way you resolved it for your memoir. Really looking forward to reading it in its final form soon!
How your words resonate with me today. Thank you for putting this so beautifully into words. We get to own our stories and our truths. These truths may not be shared by others, so we wrestle with our recollection, our knowing, and speak for ourselves, not others. I can't wait to read your book!
Thank you, Alli - How are you doing on your book? I'd love to catch up! Appreciate you taking the time to read and post a comment. It's nice to hear that my words reach folks : ) keeps me writing.
Beautiful, Laurie! So good to hear that you are editing your work and reflecting on it, creating new work and essays like this as you move forward. Keep us posted when Junkyard Girl is going to be published. I am routing for you and for it!
Thanks, Laura for reading and for your valuable comments and encouragement. I've just finished editing an Anthology called Badass Sisterhood, and that is soon to come out on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, etc. - stay tuned for that. I have two pieces in that anthology :) and now that is done - I'm working on the final edits to Junkyard Girl! Thanks for your encouragement! How is your writing going? We need to gather our small group soon?
Hi Laurie - Congratulations on the Badass book - that sounds like so much fun!! And final edits - woo-hoo! Independently published? Better way to keep all the hard-earned profits, if that's the route you chose. Well, I am where you were a few months back - in the middle of a BIG move for me: buying and selling for me for the first time in my life, and moving about 2 hours south to Placitas, NM, north of Albuquerque, south of Santa Fe. So lots of upheaval.... and closing date might be moving up from a month to about 17 days. Maybe a call in December or January? I still think our group might be worth pursuing because we got to see the big picture on each others' stories. And I really enjoyed everyone. I think it was just a hard time to set up over the summer and now with moving upheaval about to take root. Any advice, having just moved?
Steve - you are always so gracious with your thoughtful comments. Thank you for reading and commenting. I appreciate you and your wise words always -- most likely because I know they are authentic, just as you are!

Well now I am eager for your book to come out.
Seems to me that truth can be subjective based on the individuals memory but to your point …it is YOUR truth !
